Day 1: Corning, New York
Welcome to the Finger Lakes! A region of New York State known for both its series of long, thin lakes, and its vineyards, the area is marked by high gorges, many with dramatic waterfalls. Kick off your trip exploring Corning. Discover the Gaffer District with its many boutiques and artist shops. Get cultural at the Corning Museum of Glass and be sure to visit the Contemporary Art and Design wing. For art lovers, be sure to visit the Rockwell Museum that houses a renowned collection of Western paintings.
Day 2: Seneca Lake
In the Seneca Lake area you'll find a concentration of most of the Finger Lake vineyards here but save vino for later this afternoon. Begin the morning with some soft adventure at Watkins Glen State Park experiencing its numerous waterfalls. After, treat yourself to a wine tasting tour since the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is home to more than 30 wineries. If wine isn't your thing, enjoy a craft brewery tour and learn why this area is also perfect for unique beer making!
Day 3: Corning - Explore Surrounding Areas
Corning is not far from Elmira, the summer home of Mark Twain. Visit his favorite place to write. Another option is to head West towards Syracuse to sample the offerings of Cayuga Lake. Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding are all available.
